STARTING MY OWN INITIATIVE
Back in 2016, Gotcha was a product I started with a Ben Novak, a friend, and a developer. Our idea was to help websites owners get more accurate data from their users with a micro-survey widget implemented on their site. We were developing and running Gotcha for a year and a half.

AHOY! IT'S YOUR WIDGET!
On the right is the Gotcha widget with a single selection answer. This widget pops up and collapses by the user's preferences. Users can design the skin and build their own surveys.

Use triggers to target users

THE QUERY LIBRARY
From users testing, I found that it is sometimes hard for users to come up with ideas about what to ask their visitors. My solution was to build a queries library where users can select from a wide range of topics the queries they want to show on their site and preview before they publish.
GROWTH TRIGGERS
I was looking for a way to make answers from visitors more meaningful. The idea was to set triggers related to what visitors answer. Using Gotcha, site owners could use the triggers to target different populations with different offers or content.

GETTING INSIGHTS
To make all this data approachable, I designed a dashboard where site owners can view all answers in an infographic way. Site owners liked the report and asked us to send them with a daily email.
